Karolína Kopka has been a member of the Board of Directors since March 2023 and was elected Chairperson following the general assembly in March 2024. Kája is an alumna of the YFU exchange program in Ohio, USA (2014/15). After her exchange, she became actively involved as a volunteer and later worked for two and a half years at the YFU CZ office as a campaign coordinator. Her professional career has focused on the public and non-profit sectors, particularly in areas close to politics. It was YFU that led her in this direction- she wants to do meaningful work that helps improve the Czech Republic and the world around us. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, indoor climbing, and visiting public libraries.

Zuzana has been a member of the board of directors since 2019 and vice-president since March 2024. She met YFU for the first time in 2016, when her older son Honza went on an exchange trip to Uruguay and they hosted a Mexican student at home. Two years later, Kuba's younger son went to Japan and they hired an Argentinian intern. Since then, the whole family has been involved with YFU as liaisons and volunteers. At work, Zuzana is dedicated to education, employee development and spreading the culture of knowledge sharing in companies. At YFU, he takes care of recruitment and personnel matters. In her spare time, she likes to travel, mainly in Asia, hike in the mountains and relax with Korean TV series.

Kateřina Rubišarová has been a member of the YFU Board of Directors since 2018 and brings a wealth of experience in hosting students from around the world. Originally from Dlouhá Loučka in the Haná region, she first hosted a student from the Netherlands with her parents at the age of 15. Twenty years later, she returned to the experience- and since then, having a student at home has become a regular part of her life. This year, she is hosting her 13th student. As she says: “Without a YFU student, our family feels incomplete. Katka is actively involved in the YFU community- she shares her experience with new host families and helps promote intercultural exchange. Professionally, she has worked in the field of Microsoft technologies and project management since 2001. Her expertise lies in implementing systems that support efficient project planning and execution for businesses. In her free time, she passionately practices ballroom dancing, both in standard and Latin styles.

Lucie has been a member of the Board of Directors on an alternating basis since the beginning of YFU Czech Republic and returned to this role again in March 2023. During this time she was also the contact person for host families and students and participated in the preparation of seminars for students. In the board, she uses not only her kind nature and immense optimism, but also tries to be a support for the office and connect the activities of volunteers, the board and employees. The most important thing for her is to keep the YFU spirit. In her free time, she likes to travel, work with children and young people, read books and spend time in nature.

Anežka became a member of the board of directors in March 2023. She is a graduate of an exchange program in Norway and participated in several trainings abroad, including an internship in the Republic of South Africa. She alternated in several positions in the office, including volunteer and inbound coordinator, and led the ACLEV project focused on Colored Glasses workshops. Today, he leads agile teams of developers in a software company specializing in hospital data analysis. He believes that YFU's cross-cultural exchange programs have the power to change the way you see the world and allow you to see it from different perspectives. The YFU community has always been very inspiring to her. In her free time, she enjoys traveling in a DIY converted van and exploring geothermal activities. He is engaged in hunting training with his dog, Toller, and enthusiastically shares his knowledge of ultralight mountain gear.

Petra became a member of the board in April 2024 and has been associated with YFU since 2018, when her daughter went on a one-year exchange to Germany. She studied social work and adult education, which is closely related to her current work as a social worker and manager of a care service, where she helps seniors stay at home as long as possible. She is also a guardian, in charge of social housing and working with clients who need help and advice. Within YFU, Petra actively cooperates with schools, where she organizes lectures and presentations about exchange programs. It also cooperates with the YFU office on the development of these activities. In her spare time, she likes to travel around the world and to different corners of the Czech Republic, swim, play ball games and read.

Dáša Zemánková has been a member of the Board of Directors since March 2025. She is the mother of three sons, two of whom participated in year-long exchange programs in Europe. One spent his exchange in northern Germany just before the COVID pandemic, while the other experienced the 2022/2023 school year in Norway. Both returned with a wealth of experiences, memories, and a second family they stay in touch with and occasionally visit. Her son Honza became actively involved with YFU as a volunteer after returning from Norway and even served as a coordinator for a time. His enthusiasm and stories inspired Dáša to become engaged with YFU herself. Professionally, Dáša works in the private sector in the energy industry at a company headquartered in France. She is an economist and hopes to contribute her expertise in financial management to YFU. In her free time, she enjoys sports, listening to podcasts, and protecting nature as an active member of the Czech Union for Nature Conservation (ČSOP).
