"I didn't doubt the opportunity..."

Ahoj! I’m Diego and I have been living in Česká republika for almost 8 month, thanks of YFU I had the chance of working as an intern in this incredible country. Well, you may be asking who is this guy… so I'm going to tell a little of my story, I’m a Uruguayan that started volunteering in this amazing organization three years ago in my home country. Exactly one year ago I had the chance of becoming an intern in YFU CZ and I didn’t doubt about this opportunity, so in January I was taking a flight all the way from Montevideo to Prague, to start a new life for the next 8 months.

"But sooner or later, I started to feel like at home..."

Since I started working in the office I realized that this was going to be a really good experience for my personal and professional life. Because, yes it was office work but the good thing is that they give me the chance to challenge myself in many different levels. It wasn’t just work, I have to learn a new language, a new culture and never the less start a new life in a new country with new people around me. I was lucky to have a great support from the office and volunteers that make those months really unforgettable. Of course it was really difficult at the beginning, I was feeling like an exchange student, but that was the idea of being abroad. But sooner or later I started to feel like at home.

"I will never regret to take this decision..."

I’m not going to lie, there were moment of this year that it was hard to be able to do this but the most important thing is that I overcome to myself in many ways that I didn’t know before. Also the most challenging thing to be in the Czech Republic is the language, which I’m still trying to understand and talk. But in general I have to say that all this things that I lived were amazing and unforgettable, and I will never regret to take this decision.
