With the arrival of warm spring days, picnic season is officially on – and YFU didn’t miss out. On Sunday, April 27, an international picnic was held, bringing together around twenty participants – volunteers, inbound students, host families, and board members. As a new volunteer, I had a fantastic opportunity to meet many new people, which is one of the things I really enjoy about YFU.

It’s not every day that you get the chance to attend an international training organized by YFU Global. But this is exactly the opportunity that I, together with another volunteer from YFU Czech Republic, Leo Fořtová, was given at the beginning of December 2024.

This year I had an amazing opportunity to spend 8 days in beautiful Norway at a seminar focused on emotional well-being and the use of art when working with children and young adults. Thanks to my volunteering, I was incredibly lucky to apply for this seminar, and out of more than 120 applications, I was one of the 25 participants from 17 different European countries.
