Hola to All Corners of the Republic and the World!

Another year has gone by, and in early June we once again prepared our students for their exchange programs abroad. This was the time for PDO – the pre-departure orientation for our outbound students, and also REO – the re-entry orientation for our inbound students (the wonderful ones who spent their exchange here in the Czech Republic). We spent the long weekend at the Doubravka lodge near Chotěboř, surrounded by beautiful nature. And even though it rained for two days, we managed just fine, and the seminar was a great success overall.

International Picnic

With the arrival of warm spring days, picnic season is officially on – and YFU didn’t miss out. On Sunday, April 27, an international picnic was held, bringing together around twenty participants – volunteers, inbound students, host families, and board members. On Saturday, April 29, we took part in a pleasant gathering of host families, which took place in the beautiful city of Olomouc. Our shared event began at 12:00 at the main train station, where we all met and then headed to a nearby pizzeria for lunch. The autumn of 2024 was a dynamic period for our organization, filled with travel and important international meetings. As the National Director (ND) of YFU Czech Republic, I had the opportunity to represent our office at two key events – the National Directors’ Meeting of YFU organizations in Vienna and the FLAG Partner Summit in Edinburgh. Each of these events brought unique value, but both were connected by a common goal: to strengthen cooperation, share experiences, and gain inspiration for further development.
