Why We Chose to Complete Our Internship in Prague

We chose to complete our internship in the Czech Republic, specifically in Prague, because we wanted to gain international experience, develop our professional skills, and immerse ourselves in a new cultural environment. Prague immediately stood out as a city that offers both historical richness and modern opportunities. With its well‑structured work culture, strong professional standards, and welcoming atmosphere, it felt like the ideal place to broaden our knowledge and perspectives. Prague is a city known for its impressive architecture, vibrant streets, and unique blend of tradition and innovation. Every part of the city tells a story—from the iconic Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square to the modern business districts and creative urban spaces. The city is clean, safe, and well‑organized, and its public transportation system is efficient and extremely easy to navigate. This allows us to explore the city comfortably while balancing our responsibilities at the internship.

Our experience during the internship has been exceptionally positive. We were working in the company Youth For Understanding (YFU). The team we work with is professional, supportive, and always willing to help. Everyone shows patience, understanding, and a genuine willingness to guide us through new tasks and challenges. Their openness and readiness to explain every step make us feel confident, valued, and motivated to improve. We never hesitate to ask questions, because we know we will receive clear and constructive answers. We appreciate that the internship allows us to work on meaningful tasks without unnecessary pressure. Our mentors take the time to walk us through different processes and help us understand the practical aspects of the work. Each day brings new lessons—whether it is related to technical skills, communication, teamwork, or adapting to an international work environment. This hands‑on experience is shaping our understanding of professional standards and responsibilities.

In addition to the work itself, we also enjoy discovering Prague in our free time. We have visited many famous landmarks, such as Prague Castle, the Astronomical Clock, and various historical districts. The city offers countless cafés, parks, and cultural events, making it a comfortable and inspiring place to stay. The people here are friendly and helpful, even when we do not speak the local language fluently.

Overall, our experience in Prague has been extremely positive. This internship has provided us with valuable knowledge, new friendships, and memories that we will carry with us throughout our careers. Prague has exceeded our expectations by offering a supportive work environment, opportunities for growth, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are confident that choosing to complete our internship here was the right decision, and we are grateful for everything we have learned so far.
